Can someone please stop the clock...

I wish there was someway to freeze moments in time. I wish there was a way to bottle up this complete happiness and bliss that I am living in right now and hold on to it forever. I know how fast the time goes when I look at Kate and I just want it all to slow down now. If only that were possible. I am completely exhausted, a little overwhelmed, still recovering physically, learning all about the newborn phase all over again and insanely happy with it all! I constantly stop throughout the day and thank God for the incredible blessings we have in our lives. I cannot express how in love I am with Blake, I never thought that feeling could be as strong as it is with Kate and it is amazing that your heart can fit those emotions for two children! I have hardly had time to do anything around here, the house is a mess, the laundry is piling up and things are so out of order (which is not easy for me) but I am learning to let it all go, it will still be there tomorrow. I just wanted to send out an update and some new pictures. We are doing awesome around here. Jeff went back to work today but so many people are coming to help so I didn't feel as overwhelmed as I thought I would. Katelyn is adjusting very well and has been an angel. She loves Blake and wakes up in the morning asking where her brother is. I love watching her with him, she will be a great sister to him. Blake is doing really well, he is so sweet and so far so content...I don't think he has woken up yet. The only problem we are having is Blake has lost a lot of weight, he was 7lbs 1 oz today at his check. The doctor wasn't too worried but it has me all stressed out. He is nursing really well but not long enough so we are going to step it all up and fatten up our little man. He looks like such a peanut now. The nurse did tell me today that it is possible he is not going to be a huge baby, 8lbs at 37 weeks was a really big baby for Jeff and me. Kate was 6.9 at 38 weeks 3 days. He may be adjusting to his real size, regardless I want him to gain it back so we will be working to plump him up. Other than that he is a complete angel and has melted his way into our lives, I simply cannot imagine life being complete without him! I have to get into bed but here are some new pictures for you all to enjoy...

Kate went with daddy to pick out our Christmas tree, she was so excited!

That's all for tonight, good night!!

Yea!!! He is so gorgeous! Girl -- I don't think my house has been "in order" since we came home with Marleigh! My friend has a cute quote about that somewhere -- I will have to find it an share it with you! Enjoy every second! I am ecstatic for you guys!

Don't worry, Blake will plump up in no time...and you're right...who would've thought that you and Jeff would've had a 8+ pound baby?!? :) I can't wait to see you and meet baby Blake.

Thanks so much for the post-I have been checking everyday and am so happy that all is well. Sometime in January when all the chaos has died a little, I definitely would like to bring you a gift for Blake, some food and see the little man!!!

He is PRECIOUS!! I just want to pinch those cute little cheeks! I am so happy for all of you. Don't worry, he will plump up in no time. Thankfully you said he is nursing well, so it will just be a matter of time now. It takes about 3 days for the "good stuff" to start flowing, so it will happen soon. :-)

^Amanda I think I can help you out with that quote if it is the one I put up! It is one that often brings me comfort...

"The cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my babies, and babies don't keep."
- Ruth Hulbert Hamilton

BTW, I am a friend/sorority sister of Lori and Amanda. Congratulations to you and your family on a beautiful baby boy!

My favorite is, "Cleaning your house while children are growing is as pointless as shovling snow while it is still snowing."
Amen on stopping the clock. Caroline has started to outgrow some of her clothes and she doesn't look so newborn anymore. I love the pictures of Blake. He is a boy version of Kate. Adorable!!

I bet you walk around with a huge smile on your face all day long! Your house & laundry will still be there tomorrow and the next day and the next. Take every second and smother them both with love. One day you'll look back and think how quickly it went and how qrateful you are that you didn't worry about what your house looked like. :)
