19 weeks and going well.

Well my appointment went really well with Dr. Korotkin today! I was really nervous today as I probably will be through the next few weeks. I didn't see anyone last week while I was at the beach and I did a lot at the beach so I was a little scared it may have been bad today. I also started having random braxton hicks last week which are he** for me. I realize every pregnancy has braxton hicks and it is normal but considering my "braxton hicks" resulted in a 23 week delivery last time, I can't help but fear them. However, my cervix is holding strong at 4.3 which is amazing! Dr. Korotkin was so kind today and reassured Jeff and me that this is just going to be a scary time for all of us, he has decided to see us every week instead of every other week till we feel more peace about this pregnancy. So every other week I will be seen twice a week since I see Dr. Grogan every other week. The more check ups the better, less chance we will miss something. The other good news is that Dr. K said he saw no reason to restrict my activities any further, 3-4 hours of afternoon rest should be good for now, perfect! So all in all, things are looking good so far. I am trying to relax and take it one day at a time as this is where things went so downhill for me last time, week 20 is when I was hospitalized the first time for the contractions, so if I can make it through the next 4 -5 weeks maybe I can start really getting excited!! It was another trying appointment of not finding out the sex, Dr. K likes to patronize us with it all so he was just smiling and saying it is one or the other for sure:)! I really don't want to know yet, I really don't want to know at all, I want to know when it arrives so I think we can definitely make it now!! I still don't have a super strong feeling either way...time will tell. I will say that today was the most amazing ultra sound we have ever had. The machines there are so awesome and the baby was so big and moving all over the place. It is amazing to think the baby measured at 11 ounces today and sweet Kelsey was only 13 ounces when she was born, I can almost imagine how the baby looks and feels at this point as I will never forget my girls at such a young age/size!
We have a big week this week as I have another appointment on Thursday with Dr. Grogan and Saturday Jeff finishes his MBA once and for all - PRAISE GOD!!! I am SO incredibly proud of Jeff and all his hard work! Jeff and I got married in February of 2004 and he started school in August of 04, we also started our first round of IVF in August of 04 - 2009 we are going to start our marriage over with both school and IVF forever off our minds!!!
That's all for now,

Katie

Katie,
So glad to hear everything went well at your appointment. I know this has to be a scary time for you and Jeff, but hopefully these next 4 weeks will fly by and you will be past the rough times with girls. You definitely sound like you have a GREAT doctor who is here for you. Keeping thinking positive and before you know it your sweet little baby boy/girl will be here :)

I also loved the beach pictures, too cute!
